Kevin De Bruyne has been out of action since June. The Belgian playmaker got injured in the Champions League final against Inter Milan. He had to be replaced by Phil Foden.
The 32-year-old has missed Manchester City's first pre-season game and is expected to miss the rest. De Bruyne is unlikely to play against Bayern and Atletico.
However, Pep Guardiola provided an update on his injury and the midfielder is recovering well. "He feels much, much much better," the Spaniard said after the 5-3 win over Yokohama at Japan's National Stadium.
"I don't know about Bayern Munich or the next game against Atletico because he has to train, but he is so close to being back," he added.
