Joao Neves has established himself as a regular starter for Benfica this season at the age of just 19, even earning a debut for the Portugal senior team in the EURO 2024 qualifiers.
The young defensive midfielder has attracted the attention of Europe's top clubs, although it is Manchester United who have reportedly opened talks with the Portuguese club, according to 'The Mirror'.
However, the Red Devils will not find it easy to sign a promising talent whose current contract expires in 2028 and whose buyout clause is £103m. Nevertheless, the Portuguese gem is seen as a priority investment following the arrival of Jim Ratcliffe at the Mancunian club.
Joao Neves has been a key player this season for Roger Schmidt, having played 2189 minutes in 28 official appearances, 25 of them starts, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
