Barcelona want to get ahead of the rest of Europe over the future of Moukoko, who is out of contract in June 2023 and has not yet renewed his contract with Borussia Dortmund. However, the German player does not rule out staying in the Bundesliga.
"Please don't believe everything in the newspaper," Moukoko himself said on social media, alluding to the 'Bild' report that he has rejected Borussia's latest renewal offer.
If that were true, Moukoko's destination would be closer to Barcelona. 'Sport' reports that the young striker has chosen the 'Cules' for next season, although everything is still very much up in the air.
"I know it's all part of the football business now, but even though I'm young, I don't let myself be pressured into making decisions about my future," added Moukoko, who is only 18, despite the maturity he is already showing at football's top flight.
Moukoko fears that Borussia fans will react badly to the news about his future and stressed that he will not "accept such a lie". According to the German press, his aim is to move up to six million euros per season.
"I am completely focused on the second half of the season with Borussia Dortmund. No player is bigger than the club. The fans might get the wrong impression," Moukoko complained.
