Striker Edison Cavani has joined Boca Juniors after playing one season at Valencia, the Argentine club announced on Saturday. The Uruguayan has signed until 2024.

Just one year, and 28 appearances after his arrival in Valencia, Edison Cavani leaves the Mestalla Stadium. The club and the player have made an agreement to part ways, after he arrived in summer 2022 from Manchester United.
Of his 28 matches, he started 23 and put away seven goals, alongside two assists. Now the striker is set to start a new adventure in Argentina. He has left La Liga to join the Argentinian league.
"Valencia CF and Edinson Cavani have reached an agreement for the release of the Uruguayan striker," began the Spanish club's statement, released on Saturday.
Cavani has joined Boca Juniors as a free agent after being released by the Spanish side and will play at La Bombonera until 2024, the Argentine club announced on social media on Saturday.
"We are happy to have you at home," Boca Juniors posted on Twitter after publishing a video of the 36-year-old's highlights.
