RC Deportivo officialised on Wednesday the signing of left-back Rafael Obrador, who will play the 2024-25 season at Riazor on loan from Real Madrid.
The injury to Sergio Escudero, one of the summer reinforcements of the Galician team, forced the sporting management to look for an urgent replacement for that position, in which coach Imanol Idiakez had to place right back Ximo Navarro in the domestic game against Real Oviedo.
Obrador joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2020 from Mallorca, with whom he had made his LaLiga debut at the age of just 16 on the final day of the 2019-20 season against Osasuna at El Sadar.
Last season, the full-back made 34 appearances for the 'Merengues' reserve team in the Spanish third tier, and this summer he travelled with the first team on a tour of the United States.
The new Deportivo player will join the Blue and Whites' training sessions at the Abegondo training complex, so he could be included by Imanol Idiakez in the squad for next Friday's match against Huesca.
