After finishing his contract with Barcelona, Ronaldinho's son Joao Mendes has signed for Burnley until 30th June 2026. He is 19 years old and the Clarets have just been relegated to the Championship, so it is not out of the question to see him take the field in the English second tier. His first chance will be in the second matchday game against Cardiff City at home.

Ronaldinho's son Joao Mendes has signed for English Championship side Burnley. Mendes, 19, has been with Barcelona since 2023, joining from Cruzeiro's academy.
The 19-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Clarets and could make his debut this weekend when Burnley face Cardiff City at Turf Moor.
Mendes, who plays as a winger, arrives to bolster a Burnley side who were relegated from the Premier League last season and have put their faith in Scott Parker, who has a background with Fulham, Bournemouth and Bruges, to return to the top flight of English football.
The son of Ronaldinho therefore puts an end to his short stay in Barcelona U19, where he only made 9 appearances, of which 4 were as a starter and in which he failed to score any goal or provide any assist.
