In recent years there has been criticism of Manchester United's signings, who have failed to live up to their price tag and are unable to withstand the pressure of the high expectation at Old Trafford.
Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, ahead of his side's crucial Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, said it is easier to play for any other club than Manchester United.
"First of all, and I've said it more early on, playing for Man United is so much different to playing for any other club. It's so much more difficult to play for Man United and to perform for Man United as you can do for any other club, " he said.
"So, you need very strong character to perform, to deal with high expectations. Of course, when the price is too high, then the expectations will rise even more so you need even more strong characters," concluded the former Ajax coach.
