Barcelona are making progress in their talks with Pedri to sign a new contract as the midfielder's current one expires in June 2026, so at the end of next season he could leave as a free agent.

Pedri has become, along with Lamine Yamal, Barcelona's most valuable gem and the ‘Cules’ know they cannot afford to allow any club to tempt him with another project, let alone leave as a free agent at the end of next season.
The Spanish midfielder last renewed with the ‘Cules’ in 2021 and his current contract runs until June 2026, so the Spotify Camp Nou outfit are in talks with the Spain international to sign a new deal.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks between the current La Liga leaders and the former Las Palmas player are ‘progressing’ as both parties want to get the extension done.
The 21-year-old midfielder is playing a key role in Barca's flying start to the season, having made 13 official appearances so far, 11 starts in which he has scored three goals and provided two assists.
