The Paris Police Prefecture reports, in a statement published on its social networks, that it has arrested two Barcelona fans who, during the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain, made the fascist salute. They also imitated a monkey to taunt the fans of the home team. They were recorded by some other stadium attendees.

Two Barcelona fans were arrested Thursday for having used the Nazi salute at the Parc des Princes, the stadium of Paris Saint-Germany (PSG), a day after the Champions League match between the two teams.
The reason for the arrest was that of "apology of a war crime", as well as "racist public insult" - in relation to the alleged gesture imitating a monkey that fans of the Catalan team expressed and that some users recorded -, reported the Paris Prefecture in a publication on the social network X.

The acts of aggression, as seen in a video shared on social networks, were committed in the stands of the stadium where the first leg of the quarter-final of the Champions League between PSG and FC Barcelona (2-3) took place. The French authorities did not specify whether the two arrested are the two fans who appear in the images posted on the Internet.
This event is reminiscent of an episode that the Parc des Princes already witnessed in September 2022, when, in the group stage match between PSG and Juventus, two Italian fans were arrested for the same reasons. At the time, one of them was fined €4,000 and banned from the stadium for two years, while the other had to pay €1,500 for racist insults.
