Maffeo closed social media accounts for comments to his daughter
In his post-match interview after the clash against Real Madrid, Pablo Maffeo explained why he had decided to close down his social media accounts over the last few days following the Copa del Rey final defeat. The full-back had received many comments, some of them very hurtful, since then.

Mallorca lost the Copa del Rey final to Athletic in an epic match at La Cartuja. Losing a title in a penalty shoot-out leaves feelings running high and Pablo Maffeo was one of those who let them show. In tears, the full-back lamented the defeat of the Balearic side. An image that, in the end, became a trend on social networks. It received many comments, some of them really hurtful, in the hours that followed.
The player, seeing this barrage, decided to close his social media accounts. Until this Saturday, Pablo Maffeo had not given his opinion on this situation. But he did so during a post-match interview with 'DAZN' after Mallorca's narrow 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid. Along with his teammate Morlanes, he was asked about this decision.
"It doesn't affect me. Three idiots saying things to me doesn't affect me. I think it has affected my family more than me," Maffeo said. Although he acknowledged those comments, he didn't want to generalise either. The Spanish footballer's limit came when he read messages addressed to his daughter.
"I simply close my networks because I saw a comment towards my daughter. Before I get into trouble, get heated and send someone to hell, well.... Then I'll be the one who's the punk and the bully. I thought I'd close it better. Besides, I didn't use it either, just to read things", added Pablo Maffeo.
