The impact Joao Neves is making in the Portuguese league with Benfica has not gone unnoticed by the big Premier League clubs. The young star seems to have impressed scouts from both Manchester clubs Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Benfica midfielder made 20 appearances for the club last year at the age of 18. This year, now 19, he continues his great form and has played 8 games in the Portuguese league under Roger Schmidt, and has been called up to the Portugal senior team for their Euro 2024 qualifiers this month.
The Portuguese player recently signed a new deal with the club which runs through to 2028 and has a release clause of £103m. Despite this, the interest of both clubs has not decreased and they are still interested in the young player.
However, it seems that Benfica have no intention of selling Joao Neves anytime soon, and even less of letting him go in the January transfer window.
