After a successful period as Manchester United interim manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy has officially departed the club on Monday - on the same day Ruben Amorim began his journey as Man United boss. The Dutchman took charge of the Red Devils for four games following Ten Hag's sacking, overseeing victories over Leicester in the League Cup and PAOK in the Europa League and a draw against Chelsea in the Premier League before overcoming Leicester again in the league.
"Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club," United announced via an official statement. "Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach. Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford," the club added.
Alongside the Dutchman, the three other first-team coach have left Old Trafford. "Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future. We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course," United confirmed.
Just before the announcement, Man United formally welcomed Ruben Amorim, who has arrived at Carrington earlier on Monday. The Portuguese was seen travelling with his coaching staff - Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido and Emanuel Ferro, goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital and sports scientist Paulo Barreira - from Sporting Lisbon, who are set to be joining him at Manchester.
