Good news for Bayern Munich. One of the academy players, Josip Stanisic, will not only go to the Qatar World Cup for Croatia, but also after renewing his contract.
The 22 year-old Croatian joined the age group teams of the Bundesliga leaders in 2017. He kept on growing there and Julian Nagelsmann gave him the opportunity in the first team last April.
Hasan Saidhamidzic told the club's official media outlets that this contract renewal "is merit of the academy." In addition, he highlighted that they are happy to plan more targets with him "in the long term."
The player said that "this extension is a huge vote of confidence from Bayern" and he added that he would like to give it back to the club and continue developing at the German side, who helped him the chance to make his debut for Croatia last term. He has six caps for Zlatko Dalic's side.
